In the morning I had breakfast everything was fine, checked out like usual. ( I took my 3 children, one of them was celebrating his bday). I got there Sunday evening and used the valet services tipped fairly well to the valet and was in my room in no time. My experience at Great Wolf lodge this past Sunday was absurd. Sometimes even staying 10-12 times out of the year. We head out at least once every two or three months. I have been going to Great Wolf wisconsin dells for the past 18 years. The environment couldn’t have been nicer and yes, it was diverse. Like anywhere you go you should always be diligent about watching your stuff but honestly I was never worried. We never felt anything but relaxed and safe. I read a review earlier from some one who talked about gang members and watching your stuff. But get there when they open the line is unreal when they open till about 10 am. The Dunkin Donuts in the resort is a wonderful thing. And go outside the resort to eat - way better food and way better tasting. My personal recommendations, try to get in Tower 1 accommodation. We didn’t have the room cleaned so can’t talk about if they were any good. When they did finally show up they knocked on the door at the same time as opening it not even giving us a second (husband was asleep). We were gone from 9:30am- 3:30pm and housekeeping did not come yet. Our only complaint was with housekeeping. The mini golf is super tiny and tight and did not take long to complete. (Holiday weekend) Unless your kid is a water park nut or you have endless money for the arcade, I think it’s not worth it for older kids. There were mostly families with younger kids this past weekend. I think she was just on the edge of age to really enjoy it. My daughter is 12 and she said she had a lot of fun (They had trick or treating and she enjoyed the scavenger hunt as well). Life guards were attentive and professional. Had especially over the top customer service in the arcade. You really feel like they want you to enjoy yourself. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more accommodating. It is expensive, but as long as you read the reviews and know what to expect you’re ready for that. Search my reviews to see my opinions on other GWL (Wisconsin Dells, Kansas City, Colorado Springs, Mason OH). We’d have done it, if we hadn’t already had some commitments back at home. Overall, it’s a great place to stay! Our last night they put a flyer under the door offering another night for only $99. They did accidentally set off the fire alarm that forced everyone outside for about 20 minutes one night. The entertainment onsite is good, with lots to keep kids busy. There were more places to get food, but we usually opted to go off-site for meals. There isn’t a warming pool like other Great Wolfs. Outdoor pool was closed, but it looked small. The waterpark is nice, lots of slides and a good layout. #1 no in room safe #2 only one night stand #3 poor lighting (quantity and placement) The room we were in had no balcony, which is also different than other GWL. Our kids (6 and 10) love having a TV in their bunk house. Our “wolf den” had a queen sized bed, couch, table for 2 and bunk beds. Particularly the rooms are a huge improvement. I really like the updated, more hotel, less lodge look. Compared to other Great Wolfs, this one is more modern for sure. Just got home from the new GWL in Gurnee.
